Junior sailing provides young members with an introduction to sailing, giving them the opportunity to develop the skills and experience needed to play a full part in the club’s sailing activities.
Run by families for families, the hope is that juniors can have fun in a safe and welcoming environment, with parents passing on their knowledge so that juniors can enjoy all that the club has to offer.
There is a full programme of sailing on a Saturday, starting in late March / April and running through to October. The club have several boats the juniors use, including 4 Oppies, a Gul, 2 Picos and a couple of Cadets. Private boats are also used regularly, including Scows, Toppers, Lasers, and RS Fevas. Tea and plenty of cakes are available before, during and after the sessions and there is often an informal picnic or BBQ after sailing.
If you want to be kept in touch with all that is happening with Junior Sailing, then email the Class Captain, Joff McGill on firstname.lastname@example.org and you will be added to the mailing list.
Juniors and adult helpers are asked to register for the sessions they want to take part in. You can register by clicking the link for the appropriate day on the main sailing calendar or on one of the links below and you can follow all the latest news, reports and tips on the Junior Sailing blog.
