Scow Fund Appeal

(Click for Poster)

Keyhaven Yacht Club is successful in introducing new sailors to its waters through the availability of its very popular club boats. Many other members who do not have boats of their own also regularly use the club boats. With these boats, we enable our members to get onto the water, helping them to take part in club events or simply potter about in our delightful water world of the Keyhaven marshes.

The General Committee has been examining the use of its club boats, and with the widening appeal of the LR Scow across all our membership demographic, believes now is the time to purchase a good quality second hand LR Scow for the use of our members. We feel this will be a very popular decision particularly, as this year, we are hosting the Scow Nationals, we have an action packed sailing season ahead of us and a Diamond Jubilee weekend fully planned.

Could you be a benefactor? I am appealing to you for funds to help the club purchase a Scow. We want to raise £4,500. The General Committee and I believe this is achievable and that we can do this quickly so members can enjoy sailing the club's Scow in the 2012 season. Your donation will be hugely appreciated.

Cheques made payable to Keyhaven Yacht Club and cash donations can be presented at the office. Under the CASC rules, we can claim the tax back via Gift Aid on any donations. This means that when a member donates money to the club and completes a Gift Aid form, the club can claim back the tax at 20%. The donor can also claim higher rate tax back if they are a higher rate taxpayer. A Gift Aid form is on the reverse of this letter.

Alternatively, if you have a little used LR Scow in good condition and would like to donate it to the club, we would be delighted.

Please help us to put a KYC Scow on the water this season. Thank you.
