Potter to Lymington

8 Scows, 1 Cormorant, 1 GP 14 & Sentinel set off for Lymington in the first KYC organised potter of the season. The weather was magnificent and the wind forecast to be Variable 3 turned out to be sufficient with the easterly tidal set to drive all the boats up the Lymington River.

All boats successfully moored at the Lymington Pontoon and had a very pleasant lunch at LTSC sitting in the sun on the balcony. The wind had freshened for the afternoon beat back to Lymington and the tide had turned westerly which with wind against tide made the journey somewhat bumpy. However 1 1/2 hours after setting off from Lymington all ten boats & Sentinel were safely back in Hawkers with no problems. A very successful potter with suntans for all & nothing for Sentinel to do except have a pleasant trip in the sunny weather.
